Marc Paeps: photographer

how clever is this!

And some examples for visual language using substitution:

"Amnesty's flame is in danger worldwide. Defend it. Buy a candle or make a donation."

Marc Paeps was the photographer, but the advertising agency responsible is Air Agency in Brussels.
http://www.aironair.be/ worth taking a look at their other works for some major clients like Dior, GlaxoKlineSmith, Mercedes-benz and others

Hina Aoyama

again with the paper art..i have an unnatural obsession with the stuff. Hina Aoyama was born in Japan but now works and lives in France, all this work is cut by scissors. SCISSORS PEOPLE!!

Sam Winston

is a UK based artist/typographer/sculpture/general art person. I like how he treats words and white space. Its quite playful and slightly warped.

idsketching

I think Henry summed this website up perfectly:

free sketching tutorials. i find video tutorials the next best thing to a real teacher.
for industrial designers or anyone not too busy kerning, who wants to work on their sketching or marker rendering.

I watched some of these videos n they are super helpful. Its so much easier watching someone draw and imitate rather than trying to use a book or something static.

Coroflot: design jobs and portfolios

Massive thanks to Henry for this website http://www.coroflot.com/

"Coroflot is the largest, most established, most diverse pool of professional creative portfolios in the world.
Since going live in 1998, Coroflot has grown to host over 1.4 million images of creative work, from the portfolios of over 150,000 creative professionals and students from nearly every country on earth. Coroflot users are industrial, graphic, fashion, interior, textile and interaction designers; 3D modeling and rendering specialists; architects, illustrators, art directors, design managers, and dozens of other disciplines. "

This site is a fantastic source of inspiration, especially because students post up their work as well. Also, the job board is the largest design orientated i have ever seen.

Kseniya Simonova

This lady won Ukraines got Talent last year and once you watch this video you will know why. She creates these gorgeous artworks using sand and its mind blowing how she can tell a story using this technique. Buildings, people and faces just come out of nowhere.

The stills dont do her justice at all, you really have to watch the video to appreciate it.

Art Deco

I found this superb little shop along Brunswick st yesterday. Its called Zetta Florence and its a store with loads of old style prints, notebooks, cards, stickers, stationary..kind of like a classy Smiggle! I blew $40 on wrapping paper there..yes i worry about my own sanity as well, but they are the most beautiful art deco inspired pieces of paper, i just HAD to have em.

Zetta Florence is at 197 Brunswick st Fitzroy, http://www.zettaflorence.com.au/index.html
