fuse project

similar to ideo and ziba, fuse project develops cohesive brand + product experiences. With a focus on establishing new markets and disrupting old ones, our work takes a long-term strategic approach to developing and enhancing our clients' business, with teams spanning brand & market strategy, identity & naming, packaging design, product development and communications design.

They participated in the 'One Laptop per Child' initiative, which created a cheap laptop for children growing up in developing countries, allowing them to use the internet to access information and learn.

other projects:

The screen shot above is from their homepage, the students are wearing the glasses from the 'See Better to Learn Better' project which fuseproject collaborated with the Mexican government and Augen Optics. They are free glasses specifically designed for students aged between 6-18 years old. The aim of “See Better to Learn Better” is to provide a solution for children in families that cant afford the high cost of an eye exam and eyewear.

Ziba: We exist to design beautiful experiences

Ziba is a design consultancy that deals with branding & identity and is heavily focused on user-centered design. Its all about service innovation and how it relates to packaging, retail, interaction and communication design. There are some really interesting reads on their website, including how public transport will function in 2020 (sound familiar?) and the current trends of the world and how they relate to design.

Kathe Kollwitz

was a German sculpture, printmaker and painter. She was born in 1867 and past away in 1945. Her work is really dark and haunting, for some reason she has always fascinated me. I love this etching:

Its called Death and Woman (1910).

Some of her woodcuts:

This one above is called Hunger.
